Cd3 Cd56 Phenotyping

CD3 CD56 phenotyping is an immunophenotyping approach that identifies and characterizes lymphocyte populations according to surface expression of the CD3 and CD56 markers, which is important for studying immune responses in cancer. Typically performed by flow cytometry, the method uses fluorescently labeled antibodies to detect CD3-positive T cells, CD56-positive natural killer cells, and CD3-positive CD56-positive NKT-like cells within a mixed cell sample. By measuring the frequency and fluorescence intensity of these subsets, researchers can assess immune-cell composition in blood, tumors, or cultured samples. This information supports cancer immunology research, biomarker evaluation, treatment-response studies, and investigation of immune-mediated tumor control.

The exposed normal ocular surface consists of cornea and conjunctiva. Epithelial cells, goblet cells and immune cells are present in the conjunctiva. Here, a non-invasive, technique of impression cytology is described using an impression cytology device and flow cytometry to analyze immune cells in the conjunctiva.
