Crc Organoid Culture

CRC organoid culture is a three-dimensional method for growing colorectal cancer cells or patient-derived tumor tissue in laboratory conditions, creating models that preserve key features of the original disease. Cells are embedded in an extracellular matrix and supplied with defined growth and niche factors that support stem-cell maintenance, proliferation, and self-organization into tumor-like epithelial structures. These organoids can retain patient-specific mutations, morphology, and aspects of tumor heterogeneity, making them useful for studying colorectal cancer biology and progression. Researchers also apply them to evaluate drug responses, investigate treatment resistance, and support personalized therapy development.

Three-Dimensional Culture Systems: Spheroids and Organoids

2026

Three-dimensional (3D) culture systems, including spheroids and organoids, support New Approach Methodology (NAM)-aligned research by providing more physiologically relevant models than conventional two-dimensional cell cultures. Because they more closely resemble the structure and cellular interactions of tissues and organs, these systems can provide physiologically relevant data before advancing to animal studies. Spheroids as Disease and Drug Screening Models Spheroids are generated when one...

Generating an Organoid Culture from a Brain Tumor Cell Suspension

2025

This video describes the preparation and cultivation of brain tumor organoids from single-cell suspension. Using a laminin-rich extracellular matrix as a scaffold and culture media for nutrients, cells are facilitated to multiply and self-organize within the organoid. Consequently, ex vivo organoids are generated, mimicking cellular diversity and the microenvironment of brain tumors.
