Gastric Cancer Cells

Gastric cancer cells are abnormal cells originating in the stomach lining that acquire genetic and molecular changes enabling uncontrolled growth, invasion, and resistance to normal tissue controls. Mutations and epigenetic alterations can activate signaling pathways that promote cell division and survival while disrupting apoptosis, adhesion, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment. In cancer research, cultured gastric cancer cells, established cell lines, and patient-derived models help investigators examine tumor biology, test anticancer drugs, and identify biomarkers associated with treatment response. Comparing these models with normal gastric cells supports studies of disease progression and the development of more precise therapies.

In early gastric cancer, the aim of surgery is to precisely remove the distal stomach including the primary tumor. To do this, accurate localization of the tumor is crucial, especially in totally laparoscopic surgery. This protocol describes a procedure for intraoperative gastroscopy in totally laparoscopic subtotal gastrectomy.

Establishing an Infection Model Through Microinjection of Gastric Organoids with Pathogenic Bacteria
