Oviduct Targeting

Oviduct targeting is the deliberate delivery of therapeutic agents, imaging probes, or experimental interventions to the oviduct, including the fallopian tube and its epithelial lining, to study or treat disease. In cancer research, targeting can rely on localized administration, tissue-specific molecular recognition, or cellular uptake mechanisms that concentrate an agent in the tubal epithelium while limiting exposure to surrounding tissues. This approach supports investigation of early lesion formation, particularly in models of high-grade serous ovarian cancer, and enables evaluation of preventive, diagnostic, and therapeutic strategies. Oviduct-targeted models may therefore clarify cancer origins, improve drug testing, and guide more precise interventions.

Culture of normal cells in their three-dimensional context represents an alternative method to study early events required for cellular transformation and tumorigenesis. This method is used to grow normal ovarian and oviductal cells to study early events in ovarian cancer formation.

Improved Genome Editing via Oviductal Nucleic Acids Delivery-based In Vivo Electroporation Technique for Knockout Mice Generation

2025

The efficiency of the Improved Genome Editing via Oviductal Nucleic Acids Delivery (I-GONAD) method is comparable to traditional microinjection, which requires zygote collection from donor females and transfer to pseudo-pregnant females. This protocol demonstrates its effectiveness by introducing CRISPR/Cas9-induced mutations into the ROSA26 locus on chromosome 6.

Embryo Transfer Into Rabbit: A Procedure for Laparoscopy-Guided Transfer of Embryos Into Oviduct of Ovulating Recipient Female Rabbit Model

2025

This video describes the technique of transferring embryos into the oviduct of a recipient female rabbit via Laparoscopy. It allows embryo remodeling in rabbits during its migration through the oviduct, eventually helping in successful implantation. This technique can also be used for stored embryos with good efficiency.

Microdissection and Dissociation of the Murine Oviduct: Individual Segment Identification and Single Cell Isolation

2021

A method for microdissection of the mouse oviduct that allows collection of the individual segments while maintaining RNA integrity is presented. In addition, non-enzymatic oviductal cell dissociation procedure is described. The methods are appropriate for subsequent gene and protein analysis of the functionally different oviductal segments and dissociated oviductal cells.
