Automated Welding

Automated welding is the use of programmable machines, robotic systems, and control equipment to join metal components with greater consistency than manual operation. The system follows a programmed weld path while controlling variables such as torch position, travel speed, and heat input, often using sensors or feedback to maintain alignment and process stability. In engineering, automated welding supports high-volume manufacturing, repeatable joints, improved operator safety, and efficient production of structures and assemblies. Its performance depends on suitable process parameters, material selection, joint design, and quality monitoring, making it important for modern fabrication, industrial automation, and advanced manufacturing.

Peptide adsorption to plasticware during traditional tip-based serial dilutions can significantly impact potency determination and confound the understanding of structure-activity relationships used for lead identification and lead optimization phases of drug discovery. Here methods for automated acoustic non-contact serial dilution of peptide samples are described.
