Conditional Random Field

A conditional random field (CRF) is a probabilistic graphical model for predicting structured outputs from observed data, making it useful when related predictions should be considered together. It assigns scores to candidate label configurations through feature functions and learned weights, then converts those scores into a conditional probability distribution that accounts for dependencies among neighboring or connected labels. In engineering, CRFs support sequence labeling, signal interpretation, speech and language processing, image segmentation, and activity recognition. By modeling context rather than classifying each observation independently, they can produce more consistent predictions and provide a principled framework for analyzing complex, structured data.

Source: Yong P. Chen, PhD, Department of Physics & Astronomy, College of Science, Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN Magnetic fields can be generated by moving charges, such as an electrical current. The magnetic field generated by a current can be calculated from the Maxwell equation. In addition, magnetic objects such as bar magnets can also generate magnetic fields due to microscopic dynamics of charges inside the material. Magnetic fields will exert magnetic force on other moving...
