Spreading Behavior

Spreading behavior describes how a liquid, droplet, or deposited material extends across a surface, making it important for controlling wetting, adhesion, and surface coverage in engineering systems. It depends on the balance of interfacial energies between the liquid, solid, and surrounding gas, as well as viscosity, surface roughness, temperature, and contact-line dynamics; these factors determine contact angle, spreading rate, and final film shape. Engineers analyze spreading behavior to optimize coatings, printing, soldering, adhesives, and spray deposition, where uniform coverage and strong interfacial bonding affect manufacturing quality, device performance, and material reliability.

Spreading of Chromatin Modifications

The histone proteins in the nucleosomes are post-translationally modified (PTM) to increase or decrease access to DNA. The commonly observed PTMs are methylation, acetylation, phosphorylation, and ubiquitination of lysine amino acids in the histone H3 tail region. These histone modifications have specific meaning for the cell. Hence, they are called "histone code". The protein complex involved in histone modification is termed as "reader-writer" complex. Writers The writer is an enzyme that can...

Meiosis is the developmental process by which gametes are formed through a single round of DNA replication and two successive rounds of chromosome segregation. Mammalian meiosis can be examined by utilizing a technique to prepare meiotic chromosome spreads. Here, we demonstrate a method of preparing surface-spread nuclei from mouse spermatocytes.
