Activated T Cell Transfer

Activated T cell transfer is an adoptive cell therapy in which T lymphocytes are activated outside the body and administered to a recipient to strengthen or direct cellular immunity. During the process, T cells receive signals through their antigen receptors, often together with costimulatory cues and cytokines, that promote proliferation, effector function, and recognition of target cells before infusion. In immunology and infection research, this approach helps investigate how antigen-specific T cells control pathogens, persist in tissues, and influence immune responses. It also supports studies of immune deficiencies, infectious disease treatment, and strategies for improving the precision and durability of cellular therapies.
