Irf5 Inhibitory Peptide

An Irf5 inhibitory peptide is a short, targeted sequence designed to suppress the activity of interferon regulatory factor 5 (IRF5), a transcription factor that helps control inflammatory immune responses. By interfering with IRF5 activation or its interactions with signaling partners, the peptide can reduce IRF5-dependent transcription of inflammatory genes and cytokines. In immunology and infection research, this tool helps clarify how innate immune cells respond to pathogens and distinguish protective inflammation from damaging overactivation. It may also support investigation of IRF5 as a therapeutic target for inflammatory and infectious diseases.

2011

This paper introduces an approach of combining laser scanning photostimulation with whole cell recordings in transgenic mice expressing GFP in limited inhibitory neuron populations. The technique allows for extensive mapping and quantitative analysis of local synaptic circuits of specific inhibitory cortical neurons.

Immunoaffinity Based Extraction of Ubiquitinylated Peptides: A Technique to Selectively Extract Ubiquitin Tagged Peptides from Purified Peptide Fractions

2023

This video describes a method to extract and purify ubiquitinylated peptides containing remnant di-glycine peptides from a complex peptide mixture. The presented method may help in identifying original ubiquitination sites in the protein.

A Microtiter Plate Method to Assess the Minimum Inhibitory Concentration of an Antibiotic

2025

This video demonstrates a microtiter plate-based method for determining the Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) of test antibiotics against bacteria. Upon adding a suspension of the bacterial pathogen Pseudomonas aeruginosa to a microtiter plate containing serial dilutions of a test antibiotic, and an inhibitor of the production of pyomelanin by the bacteria, the optical density of the wells is measured to compute the minimum inhibitory concentration of the antibiotic, and the impact of the...

Determining the Minimum Inhibitory Concentration of Enrofloxacin Against Avian Pathogenic E. coli

2026

Begin with a suspension of avian pathogenic E. coli or APEC in growth media.APEC is a Gram-negative bacterium that infects poultry by entering through the respiratory tract. After breaching the mucosal layer, APEC adhere to epithelial cells, multiply locally, and disrupt the epithelial barrier to enter the bloodstream. The bacteria then spread to multiple organs, causing systemic infection.Add an equal volume of the bacterial suspension to each well of a multi-well plate containing increasing...
