Mitochondrial Ros Inhibitor

Mitochondrial ROS inhibitors are compounds or interventions that reduce the production or activity of reactive oxygen species within mitochondria, helping control redox imbalance and oxidative damage. They can act by limiting electron leakage from the mitochondrial electron transport chain, neutralizing ROS, or altering pathways that regulate mitochondrial oxidant generation. In immunology and infection research, these inhibitors help distinguish protective antimicrobial signaling from excessive mitochondrial oxidative stress that can injure host cells and amplify inflammation. By modulating mitochondrial redox state, they support studies of immune-cell activation, inflammatory disease, pathogen responses, and host-directed therapeutic strategies.
