T Cell Stimulation

T cell stimulation is the process that activates T lymphocytes to recognize antigens, multiply, and coordinate adaptive immune responses. Activation begins when the T cell receptor binds a specific peptide presented by major histocompatibility complex molecules, while co-stimulatory signals such as CD28 engagement by B7 proteins and cytokines reinforce the response. In immunology and infection research, controlled stimulation helps measure antigen-specific immunity, cytokine production, proliferation, and cytotoxic activity. These approaches support studies of pathogen defense, vaccine responses, immune deficiencies, and immunotherapies, while also clarifying how insufficient or excessive activation contributes to chronic infection and inflammatory disease.

Stimulating Neuronal Cell Differentiation Using Gold Nanorods

2025

This video demonstrates a technique to promote neuronal differentiation by exposing nerve cells to gold nanorods and laser light, which forms cell projections supported by the βIII-tubulin. Staining and observing tubulin and the cell nucleus with epifluorescence microscopy reveals the cell outgrowths, indicating the nanorods' efficacy in neuronal differentiation.

Ex Vivo T Cell Stimulation in the Pancreatic Tumor: A Method to Increase Cytokine Production in T Cells

2023

This article describes the technique for ex vivo T cell stimulation to increase the intracellular concentration of cytokines such as interferon-gamma or IFN-gamma and tumor necrosis factor-alpha or TNF-alpha in the T cell. These cytokines mediate an effective anti-tumor response and can have a therapeutic role in the...

Stimulation of Vascular Endothelial Cells Using Neutrophil Extracellular Traps in the Presence of Low-Density Lipoprotein

2025

A series of methods is described, including the isolation of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) from human plasma, differentiation of HL-60 cells into neutrophil-like cells, preparation of neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) in the presence of LDL, and stimulation of human aortic endothelial cells with a mixture of NETs and LDL.
