Cupcake Pricing

Cupcake pricing is the process of determining how much to charge for each cupcake while covering production costs and achieving a planned profit. In mathematics, the price can be modeled by adding variable costs, such as ingredients, packaging, and labor per cupcake, to a share of fixed costs, then applying a markup; break-even analysis compares total revenue with total cost to identify the sales volume needed to avoid a loss. These calculations help bakers evaluate recipes, adjust prices when costs change, compare product sizes or flavors, and forecast revenue and profit. The same framework applies percentages, ratios, linear equations, and basic business modeling.
