Bleeding On Probing

Bleeding on probing is a clinical sign in which gentle insertion of a periodontal probe causes bleeding from the gingival sulcus or periodontal pocket, indicating possible inflammation of the surrounding tissue. In inflamed gingiva, bacterial biofilms trigger vascular changes and weaken the sulcular epithelium, making it more likely to bleed when mechanically disturbed. Clinicians use this finding to assess gingival health, identify sites affected by gingivitis or periodontitis, and monitor responses to oral-hygiene interventions and periodontal treatment. Because bleeding can vary with probing force, technique, and patient factors, it should be interpreted alongside pocket depth, attachment levels, plaque accumulation, and other clinical findings.

Bleeding in Fresh Concrete

2024

Bleeding in fresh concrete occurs when water from the mix rises to the surface. This happens because the mix's solid components fail to retain all the water as they settle, leading to separation where water collects at the top. The severity of bleeding can be measured by assessing the total settlement or by noting the decrease in height per unit height of concrete. Bleeding can cause several issues in the concrete structure. Sometimes, the rising water gets trapped beneath large aggregate...

Extracellular recordings of neuronal activity using silicon probes in the anesthetized rat will be described. This technique allows information to be obtained across multiple brain areas from more than 100 neurons simultaneously. It provides information with single cell resolution about neuronal ensembles dynamics in multiple local circuits.
