Connector Installation

Connector installation is the process of attaching compatible components to create a secure connection within a medical device or clinical system. It relies on matching connector types, aligning mating surfaces, and applying the specified locking or sealing method to maintain mechanical stability and, where required, prevent leaks, contamination, or signal loss. Proper installation supports the reliable transfer of fluids, gases, electrical signals, or data in equipment such as infusion systems, respiratory devices, and patient-monitoring instruments. Correct technique, compatibility checks, and inspection help reduce disconnections, device malfunction, and risks to patient safety while promoting consistent clinical performance.

Installation of Optical Windows in the Brain of Transgenic Mice to Image Neural Activities

2025

This video demonstrates the brain's neural activity recording through an optical window in transgenic mice. The mice express a fluorescent protein that enables the detection of neural activities. A small portion of the skull is carefully removed to install an optical window, and the skull is then covered with black cement to block light before imaging.
