Imaging-based Improvement

Imaging-based improvement is the use of medical images and imaging-derived measurements to assess, refine, and monitor clinical care. The process typically involves acquiring standardized images, analyzing visual or quantitative features, and comparing findings across time, patients, or treatment targets to identify changes and guide decisions. In medicine, this approach can support earlier detection of abnormalities, more consistent diagnosis, treatment planning, and evaluation of therapeutic response. It also helps researchers and clinicians measure outcomes objectively, improve imaging workflows, and develop more precise, data-informed methods for patient management.

2024

Varicocele relies heavily on angiographic diagnostic techniques for disease-related examination and assessment. In order to diagnose varicocele better, we combined supine and standing positions for varicocele imaging, and contrast-enhanced ultrasound is used for patients with inconspicuous reflux. This approach facilitates the early detection, diagnosis, and treatment of varicocele.

This manuscript describes the zWEDGI (zebrafish Wounding and Entrapment Device for Growth and Imaging), which is a compartmentalized device designed to orient and restrain zebrafish larvae. The design permits tail transection and long-term collection of high-resolution fluorescent microscopy images of wound healing and regeneration.

2015

Fourier Transform Infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopic imaging is a fast and label-free approach to obtain biochemical data sets of cells and tissues. Here, we demonstrate how to obtain high-definition FT-IR images of tissue sections towards improving disease diagnosis.

Handheld Device for Saliva Pretreatment to Improve Cortisol Detection

2026

This protocol describes a rapid saliva pretreatment method for improving cortisol detection. A handheld filtration device is used to remove mucins and other interfering substances while preserving the target analyte. The pretreated saliva exhibits improved capillary flow, thereby enabling more consistent and reproducible assay performance.
