Visualized Nursing Pathway

Visualized Nursing Pathway is a graphical representation of the organized steps nurses use to assess patients, identify care needs, plan interventions, and evaluate outcomes. It works by arranging clinical information, decisions, and actions in a sequential or branching format, making relationships between patient findings and nursing responses easier to follow. In medicine, this approach supports understanding of clinical reasoning, care coordination, and evidence-based practice across different patient conditions. Pathway visualizations can also help learners connect assessment data with nursing diagnoses and measurable outcomes, while giving practitioners a shared framework for communication, documentation, and consistent patient-centered care.

Photoreceptors and Visual Pathways

At the molecular level, visual signals trigger transformations in photopigment molecules, resulting in changes in the photoreceptor cell's membrane potential. The photon's energy level is denoted by its wavelength, with each specific wavelength of visible light associated with a distinct color. The spectral range of visible light, classified as electromagnetic radiation, spans from 380 to 720 nm. Electromagnetic radiation wavelengths exceeding 720 nm fall under the infrared category, whereas...

Visualization and Mapping of Neuronal Pathways in an Amygdala Brain Slice

2025

This video demonstrates a procedure for analyzing synaptic connectivity between medial prefrontal cortex (mPFC) and amygdala neurons using acute amygdala brain slices from mice. The mPFC neurons in these mice express channelrhodopsin fused to a fluorescent protein. The channelrhodopsins facilitate ion influx and action potential generation in the mPFC neurons upon light activation. Consequently, mPFC neurons release neurotransmitters that bind to postsynaptic amygdala neurons, triggering...

Preparing a Rat Model to Assess Visual Pathway Integrity Using an Electrophysiology Setup

2025

This video demonstrates the preparation of a rat model to study retinal health and visual pathway integrity. Visual evoked potential and electroretinography reference and active electrodes are connected to the rat, followed by aligning the platform with the rat in front of the Ganzfeld bowl for even retinal illumination and closing the Faraday cage to avoid external interference.

Measuring Connectivity in the Primary Visual Pathway in Human Albinism Using Diffusion Tensor Imaging and Tractography

This manuscript describes deterministic and probabilistic algorithms for white matter (WM) reconstruction, used to examine differences in optic radiation (OR) connectivity between albinism and controls. Although probabilistic tractography follows the true course of nerve fibers more closely, deterministic tractography was run to compare the reliability and reproducibility of both techniques.
