Wound Healing Time Assessment

Wound healing time assessment is the systematic evaluation of how long a wound takes to progress from injury to closure, providing an objective measure of recovery in medicine. It uses serial examinations and measurements to track wound size, tissue formation, re-epithelialization, inflammation, and remodeling over time, while considering wound type and patient condition. Clinicians use these observations to identify delayed healing, monitor treatment response, and guide changes in care. Consistent assessment also supports comparison of therapies and improves understanding of factors that influence tissue repair, including infection, impaired circulation, and underlying disease.
