Interaction Logging

Interaction logging is the systematic recording of events, behaviors, and communications between participants, organisms, or neural systems, creating a traceable record for analysis. In neuroscience, logging links timestamped stimuli, behavioral responses, experimental conditions, and neural signals so researchers can align observed interactions with underlying brain activity. Structured logs may reveal patterns in social behavior, sensory processing, decision-making, and network communication while supporting reproducible experiments. When combined with electrophysiology, imaging, or computational modeling, interaction logging helps connect real-time events to neural mechanisms, quantify changes across conditions, and generate datasets for studying cognition, disease-related dysfunction, and adaptive behavior.

The Mantel-Cox Log-Rank Test

2025

The Mantel-Cox log-rank test is a widely used statistical method for comparing the survival distributions of two groups. It tests whether a statistically significant difference exists in survival times between the groups without assuming a specific distribution for the survival data, making it a non-parametric test. This flexibility makes the log-rank test particularly valuable in medical research and other fields where the timing of an event, such as death or disease recurrence, is of interest.

SILAC immunoprecipitation experiments represent a powerful means for discovering novel protein:protein interactions. By allowing the accurate relative quantification of protein abundance in both control and test samples, true interactions may be easily distinguished from experimental contaminants, and low affinity interactions preserved through use of less-stringent buffer conditions.
