3d Dynamic Photon Localization Tracking

3D dynamic photon localization tracking is an imaging approach that determines the three-dimensional positions of fluorescent molecules or particles as they move over time, providing nanoscale information beyond conventional two-dimensional microscopy. The method records individual emitted photons and estimates each emitter’s lateral and axial coordinates by fitting its point-spread function, using depth-dependent optical signals to resolve position and construct time-resolved trajectories. In bioengineering, these measurements help characterize molecular transport, membrane dynamics, intracellular organization, and engineered biomaterials. By linking spatial localization with motion, the technique supports quantitative studies of cellular function, biomolecular interactions, and the design or evaluation of advanced diagnostic and therapeutic systems.

2015

Stereotactic ablative body radiation therapy (SBRT) involves the precise delivery of high-dose radiation to cancer tumor targets. A novel SBRT platform offers a first-of-its-kind gimbaled radiation accelerator mounted within a pivoting O-ring gantry capable of dynamic image-guided tumor tracking. Here, we describe dynamic tumor tracking for lung targets.
