Endoscopic Skills

Endoscopic skills are the technical and cognitive abilities used to perform endoscopy safely, combining scope navigation, tissue visualization, instrument control, and clinical decision-making. Practitioners guide a flexible or rigid endoscope through anatomical passages while coordinating a camera and light source, maintaining an appropriate field of view, and using working channels for interventions such as biopsy or hemostasis. In medicine, structured training in these skills supports accurate diagnosis, minimally invasive treatment, and effective management of complications. Simulation and supervised procedures help learners develop hand-eye coordination, spatial awareness, procedural judgment, and patient safety practices across specialties.

Two-Dimensional Graphs Some chemistry experiments take the form of directly changing one property of the system that you are studying otherwise known as the independent variable, like temperature, and measuring the effects on another property, otherwise known as the dependent variable, like volume. Once the data have been collected, the interaction between the two parameters must be quantified — or converted into a form that can be evaluated — and compared to other relationships.

We describe a novel virtual-reality based setup which exploits voluntary control of one hand to improve motor-skill performance in the other (non-trained) hand. This is achieved by providing real-time movement-based sensory feedback as if the non-trained hand is moving. This new approach may be used to enhance rehabilitation of patients with unilateral hemiparesis.
