Orange Juice

Orange juice is a citrus beverage produced by pressing oranges and is studied in medicine as a dietary source of vitamin C, folate, potassium, and bioactive flavonoids. Its vitamin C supports collagen synthesis and acts as a reducing agent that can improve absorption of non-heme iron when consumed with plant-based foods, while its sugars and acidity influence glycemic and dental considerations. Clinical and nutritional research examines orange juice in relation to nutrient adequacy, cardiovascular health markers, iron status, and dietary patterns. Understanding its composition, portion size, and processing helps distinguish potential benefits of whole juice from risks associated with excess consumption.

Pancreatic Juice and Secretion

Pancreatic juice is a clear fluid produced by the pancreas, containing water, salts, sodium bicarbonate, and enzymes vital for digestion in the small intestine. It helps break down large molecules, facilitating nutrient absorption. When acidic chyme from the stomach enters the duodenum, it triggers the release of secretin, a hormone that prompts pancreatic juice secretion. After a fatty meal, cholecystokinin, another hormone, stimulates gallbladder contraction and enhances enzyme-rich...
