Online Event Triggering

Online event triggering is a real-time method that detects predefined events in continuously acquired data and initiates an immediate response, making it valuable for time-sensitive neuroscience experiments. The system processes incoming neural, physiological, behavioral, or stimulus signals, applies threshold or pattern-based criteria, and sends a trigger when the specified condition occurs. This approach can synchronize stimulation, recording, imaging, or behavioral tasks with neural activity and support closed-loop experimental designs. By reducing dependence on offline analysis and improving temporal alignment between observed events and experimental actions, online event triggering helps researchers investigate neural dynamics, sensorimotor interactions, and adaptive brain responses.
