Q1: What are the two main categories of veins that drain the lower limbs?
Blood from the lower limbs is drained by deep veins and superficial veins. Deep veins include the posterior tibial vein, anterior tibial vein, and popliteal vein, which drain deep structures. Superficial veins, closer to the body's surface, include the great and small saphenous veins. Both types frequently interconnect throughout their course.
