A dissection technique for removal of the dentate gyrus from adult mouse under a stereomicroscope was demonstrated in this video-recorded protocol.

The hippocampus is one of the most Widely studied areas in the brain because it's important functional role in memory processing. It's remarkable neuroplasticity and it's involvement in epilepsy, neurodegenerative diseases and psychological disorders. The hippocampus is composed of distinct regions, the DTO Gyrus, CO one, and CS three.

The DTO gyrus is a site of other neurogenesis and many researchers may be including you are interested in this region. This video recorded protocol, we show a dissection technique for removing theto gers from adult mouth under sterile microscope. This technique allows us to dissect out and intact whole DTO gels.

The technique is very useful because large amount of proteins, mease and neurons from the enter gel samples can be obtained and used for any assay including transcriptomic, proteomic and CE biology analysis. Here's Dr.Gil. He is demonstrating his excellent tend dissection technique in this move.

He, I watched a movie and was impressed with how skillfully and smoothly you dissect gyrus. You have the technique of an expert. How many times did you have to practice this technique to reach this level of competence?

I had dissect out of vintage GY more than 100 times using this technique, but it probably took me only 20 dissections to reach this level of whiskey. Do you think anybody interested in this technique can acquire this skill? Yes, I do.

But you must have good control over your hands and finger. Are there any chips you can give us or things that we should pay attention to when performing this technique? Yes.When removing the dia pepper, it's very important not to injure the hippocampus or surrounding area.

Such an injury will make it difficult to identify the boundaries between the tenitis and arm's home. Keeping the boundaries in that and patient is crucial. Thank you.Here.

Okay, here we go. Place the brain into HighCo.PVS. Cut the brain along the longitudinal al.

Cut those lesions posterior to laden. Place the cellular penia media the other side up and remove the several. This is measured side of hippocampus.

You can see the boundary of Ditis and the CS three region. Insert a needle chip into Each side of the ditis and slide the needle along with the septic temporal axis of the hippocampus was isolated.I.
