Emulating plant-microbe interactions in vitro using Bacillus mycoides and plant root exudates enables mechanistic interrogation of microbial gene expression in response to plant-derived signals. This approach supports early discovery efforts to de-risk microbial targets and clarify functional pathways relevant to agricultural biotechnology portfolios. Quantitative gene expression outputs inform predictive confidence for translational applications in plant-microbe system engineering.
