This study investigates the efficacy of CAR T cells in targeting B cell lymphoma tumor cells. The experimental setup involves co-culturing CAR T cells with tumor cells and measuring the resulting cytotoxic effects through bioluminescence.
This in vitro assay enables biopharma teams to functionally validate CAR T cell activity by measuring cytokine release and tumor cell cytotoxicity in a controlled co-culture system. It supports early-stage target validation and mechanistic de-risking by linking antigen binding to effector function and tumor cell death. The assay provides quantitative, reproducible readouts that inform go/no-go decisions in immunotherapy discovery pipelines.
The assay fits within the discovery continuum from target validation through lead identification, providing functional validation before in vivo testing. It enables iterative CAR design optimization by linking molecular engagement to biological output.
