To obtain eggs For male production, we use artificial membrane feeding using animal blood from a local abattoir. After sorting, three aliquots of 500 male pupi are taken and the number of female pube present counted down a microscope. Females can be identified by looking at the genital lobe shape. The female genital lobe is much smaller and rounded than the male.
