Pellet Dispenser System

A pellet dispenser system is an automated apparatus that delivers measured food pellets during controlled behavioral experiments, enabling consistent reinforcement and precise observation of animal responses. The system operates by activating a motor or dispensing mechanism when triggered by a programmed schedule, behavioral response, or external control signal, releasing a defined number of pellets into a receptacle. In operant conditioning studies, researchers use pellet dispensers to implement reinforcement schedules, measure response rates, and standardize food delivery across trials. Automation reduces experimenter variability and supports reproducible investigations of learning, motivation, decision-making, and other behavioral processes.

This protocol describes a bioprinting methodology using an automated robotic depositing system that incorporates etched topographical guidance cues with the precision deposition of a cell bearing hydrogel bioink. The printed cells are directly delivered to the etched features and are able to sense and orientate with them.

Peptide adsorption to plasticware during traditional tip-based serial dilutions can significantly impact potency determination and confound the understanding of structure-activity relationships used for lead identification and lead optimization phases of drug discovery. Here methods for automated acoustic non-contact serial dilution of peptide samples are described.
