Single Ev Analysis

Single EV analysis is the study of individual extracellular vesicles, membrane-bound particles that transport molecular information between cells. The approach detects and characterizes vesicles one at a time, typically by combining single-particle imaging or nano-flow cytometry with fluorescent labels for surface markers, proteins, nucleic acids, or other cargo; this resolves heterogeneity that bulk measurements can obscure. In biochemistry, single EV analysis helps determine how vesicle composition varies among cell populations and conditions, supporting research on intercellular communication, disease-associated biomarkers, drug delivery, and precision diagnostics. Its ability to link molecular features with individual vesicles may improve reproducibility and clarify EV function.

Single Virus Genomics (SVG) is a method to isolate and amplify the genomes of single virons. Viral suspensions of a mixed assemblage are sorted using flow cytometry onto a microscope slide with discrete wells containing agarose, thereby capturing the virion and reducing genome shearing during downstream processing. Whole genome amplification is achieved using multiple displacement amplification (MDA) resulting in genomic material that is suitable for sequencing.
