Biopsy Forceps

Biopsy forceps are specialized medical instruments used to remove small tissue samples for microscopic examination and diagnosis. Their hinged jaws open and close through a handle or endoscopic control, allowing clinicians to grasp and excise tissue from accessible internal surfaces while limiting surrounding damage. In biology and biomedical research, biopsy forceps support tissue sampling during endoscopy and other minimally invasive procedures, providing specimens for histology, cytology, molecular analysis, and disease assessment. Their design, including jaw shape, flexibility, and compatibility with the instrument channel, influences sample quality and procedural precision, making them important tools for studying tissue structure and identifying pathological changes.

We describe a method to establish human enteroids from small intestinal crypts and colonoids from colon crypts collected from both surgical tissue and biopsies. In this methodological article, we present the culture modalities that are essential for the successful growth and maintenance of human enteroids and colonoids.

We standardized an abdominal adipose tissue biopsy using a non-diathermy method performed under local anesthesia. Three cases of excessive post-operation bleeding out of 115 operations (2.61%) occurred. We conclude that an abdominal adipose tissue surgical biopsy using a non-diathermy method can be safely applied to healthy men.
