Blood Ph Monitoring

Blood pH monitoring is the measurement of blood acidity or alkalinity to assess acid–base balance, a key indicator of physiological stability. The measurement typically uses a pH electrode that detects hydrogen ion activity in a blood sample, often alongside carbon dioxide and oxygen sensors in blood gas analysis; results are interpreted with bicarbonate and respiratory values to identify disturbances. In biology and medicine, monitoring blood pH helps evaluate ventilation, metabolism, kidney function, and disorders such as acidosis or alkalosis. It supports diagnosis, treatment decisions, and assessment of critically ill patients whose acid–base status can change rapidly.

Errors occurring during blood pressure monitoring

2024

Blood pressure monitoring is a crucial clinical procedure in diagnosing and managing various cardiovascular conditions. Despite its significance, the accuracy of blood pressure measurements can be compromised by multiple factors, potentially leading to either falsely high or low readings. These inaccuracies are critical as they can significantly impact patient care. So, it is vital to understand these challenges deeply and adopt strategic approaches to minimize errors. Several factors...
