Cyclic Tendon Loading

Cyclic tendon loading is the repeated application and release of mechanical force to tendon tissue, a process that influences tendon structure, function, and adaptation. During loading, collagen fibers bear tensile stress while tenocytes sense changes in strain and convert them into cellular signals through mechanotransduction, altering matrix production and organization. In biology, controlled cyclic loading helps researchers study tendon development, remodeling, fatigue, and injury responses under laboratory or physiological conditions. It also supports rehabilitation research and tissue engineering by clarifying how loading patterns, intensity, and duration affect tendon strength and healing. These insights can guide strategies for preventing degeneration and restoring tendon function.

Cyclic Voltammetry (CV)

2023

Source: Laboratory of Dr. Kayla Green — Texas Christian University A Cyclic Voltammetry (CV) experiment involves the scan of a range of potential voltages while measuring current. In the CV experiment, the potential of an immersed, stationary electrode is scanned from a predetermined starting potential to a final value (called the switching potential) and then the reverse scan is obtained. This gives a 'cyclic' sweep of potentials and the current vs. potential curve derived from the data is...
