Ev Quantification

Extracellular vesicle (EV) quantification is the measurement of the number, concentration, and sometimes size or cargo-associated properties of membrane-bound particles released by cells, helping researchers compare vesicle production and composition across biological samples. It commonly combines separation or enrichment with methods such as nanoparticle tracking analysis, tunable resistive pulse sensing, flow cytometry, or protein-based assays, each detecting different physical or molecular features and requiring controls for contaminants and aggregation. In biology, reliable EV quantification supports studies of cell communication, disease-associated biomarkers, drug delivery, and therapeutic manufacturing, while standardized measurements improve reproducibility and interpretation across experiments.

2025

The therapeutic application of extracellular vesicles (EVs) has the potential to revolutionize cancer treatment and drug delivery. Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) cell-derived EVs (CAR-EVs) isolated using ion-exchange chromatography exhibit increased cargo capacity, significantly enhancing their functional efficacy. This study further characterizes CAR-EVs to elucidate their biological activity and therapeutic potential.

Invertebrate Lifespan Quantification

2023

Many animals naturally stop growing upon reaching adulthood, after which they undergo aging or "senescence" until dying. The amount of time between an organism\'s birth and death is called its lifespan, which can be influenced by various biological and environmental factors. By exposing organisms to different growth conditions, scientists can better understand the factors affecting lifespan. Flies and worms are ideal organisms to perform such experiments, given their short generation time and...
