Murine Organoids

Murine organoids are three-dimensional, miniaturized tissue models grown in vitro from mouse stem cells or tissue-derived progenitors, providing a controlled system for studying tissue organization and function. Under defined culture conditions, cells proliferate and self-organize within an extracellular matrix or similar scaffold, while carefully selected growth factors and signaling cues guide lineage specification and tissue architecture. These models support research in developmental biology, disease mechanisms, host–pathogen interactions, and drug evaluation, enabling investigators to examine mammalian biology with greater cellular complexity than conventional two-dimensional cultures while retaining experimental control and reducing reliance on whole-animal studies.
