Peptide Yy-gfp Mouse

A Peptide YY-GFP mouse is a genetically engineered reporter model that marks cells expressing the Peptide YY (Pyy) gene with green fluorescent protein, enabling researchers to identify this hormone-producing cell population. In these mice, regulatory sequences associated with Pyy expression drive GFP production, so cells can be visualized and analyzed through fluorescence microscopy or cell-sorting methods. The model supports studies of enteroendocrine cell distribution, intestinal hormone biology, appetite regulation, and gut-brain signaling. By linking gene activity to a visible signal, Peptide YY-GFP mice help researchers investigate how PYY-producing cells respond to physiological conditions and contribute to metabolic and digestive functions.
