Plasmid Dna Delivery

Plasmid DNA delivery is the introduction of circular, independently replicating DNA molecules into cells to produce a desired genetic product or study gene function. Delivery methods such as chemical transfection, electroporation, and lipid-based carriers help plasmids cross the cell membrane, after which the DNA must reach the nucleus in many eukaryotic cells for transcription. Researchers use plasmid delivery to express proteins, fluorescent reporters, or regulatory sequences in cultured cells, and to introduce recombinant DNA into bacteria. The method supports cloning, molecular biology experiments, functional genomics, and evaluation of gene-based tools, although delivery efficiency and cellular responses can vary with the cell type and method.
