Unstressed Cell Conditions

Unstressed cell conditions describe an environment in which cells experience stable, near-baseline conditions and do not face deliberate challenges such as nutrient deprivation, toxins, extreme temperature, or mechanical strain. By maintaining key variables, including temperature, pH, osmolarity, nutrient availability, and gas exchange, researchers support cellular homeostasis and limit activation of stress-response pathways. This baseline state provides a control for comparing how cells change after exposure to disease-related, environmental, or experimental stressors. In biology, unstressed cultures help establish normal growth, metabolism, signaling, and gene-expression patterns, improving interpretation of cell-based experiments and the identification of mechanisms that protect or damage cells.

Fear Conditioning

2023

Fear Conditioning is a type of learning in which an association is established between a negative unpleasant event and a harmless stimulus. This leads to a fear of the harmless stimulus. This process is largely mediated by the amygdala, which is a brain region involved in emotions and stress reactions. Fear conditioning can be utilized in several ways to understand different aspects of learning and memory. This video presents an overview of the principles behind fear conditioning, discusses the...

This protocol provides a method for the collection of mouse embryonic stem cell (mESC)-conditioned medium (mESC-CM) derived from serum (fetal bovine serum, FBS)- and feeder (mouse embryonic fibroblasts, MEFs)-free conditions for a cell-free approach. It may be applicable for the treatment of aging and aging-associated diseases.
