Cancer Drug Screening

Cancer drug screening is the systematic evaluation of compounds to identify treatments that selectively inhibit cancer growth while limiting harm to healthy cells. In laboratory assays, candidate drugs are applied across concentrations to cultured cancer cells or model systems, and responses such as cell viability, proliferation, apoptosis, or molecular pathway activity are measured to establish dose-response relationships. Screening can compare drug sensitivity across tumor types, genetic backgrounds, or treatment combinations, helping researchers prioritize promising candidates for further preclinical testing. These approaches support mechanism-of-action studies, biomarker discovery, and the development of more effective, personalized cancer therapies.
