Einstein Explanation

Einstein’s explanation of Brownian motion is a theoretical account of the irregular movement of microscopic particles suspended in a fluid, and it helped establish the molecular basis of matter. The model attributes this motion to countless, uneven collisions between visible particles and the fluid’s constantly moving molecules, producing a random walk whose extent depends on temperature, viscosity, particle size, and time. In chemistry, this framework connects observable colloidal behavior with molecular-scale dynamics. It also provided a way to estimate molecular dimensions and supported the development of statistical mechanics, strengthening experimental evidence for atoms and molecules.

Consumer Surplus: Graphical Explanation

2025

Consumer surplus helps quantify the benefits consumers derive from purchasing goods or services at a price lower than what they are willing to pay. In a market, there are numerous consumers who purchase a product. Different consumers place different values on the same product. For example, consider three shoppers buying a jar of honey. The market price of the jar is $10 per unit. Alice, who values the honey at $20, has a consumer surplus of $10. Ben, willing to pay $18, enjoys a surplus of $8.

Producer Surplus: Graphical Explanation

Producer surplus is the difference between the price at which producers are willing to sell their product in the market and the price that they receive. It represents the benefit that producers receive when they sell the product at a higher price than their minimum acceptable price. The supply curve represents the minimum acceptable price for selling each quantity of the good. When all goods are sold at the same market price, the producer surplus is represented as the triangular area between the...

The goal of this experiment is to determine and control the size, shape and stability of self-assembled discotic amphiphiles in water. For aqueous based supramolecular polymers such level of control is very difficult. We apply a strategy using both repulsive and attractive interactions. The experimental techniques applied to characterize this system are broadly applicable.

Colony-Forming Unit Assay Adapted For Patient-Derived Bone Marrow and Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells

2026

This protocol outlines a procedure for inducing differentiation of human hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells derived from patient bone marrow and peripheral blood mononuclear cells. The assay uses a semisolid culture medium supporting erythroid and myeloid lineage commitment and incorporates standardized metrics for reproducible colony classification for preclinical drug characterization.
