Cam02-ucs

CAM02-UCS is a perceptual color space designed to represent color differences more uniformly than conventional device-dependent coordinates. It builds on the CIECAM02 color-appearance model, transforming its lightness, colorfulness, and hue responses through nonlinear scaling into J′, a′, and b′ coordinates that better reflect perceived visual distances under specified viewing conditions. In engineering, CAM02-UCS supports color-difference evaluation, image and display calibration, quality control, and algorithm development for imaging systems. By accounting for illumination, viewing environment, and human color perception, it helps engineers compare colors consistently across devices and assess whether rendered changes are perceptually significant.

Through a double treatment with colchicine, a plant-derived toxin that kills dividing cells, nerve-free Hydra vulgaris can be generated. These Hydra cannot feed or egest on their own. This paper describes an improved method for long-term maintenance of nerve free Hydra vulgaris in the laboratory.

Induction of Invasive Transitional Cell Bladder Carcinoma in Immune Intact Human MUC1 Transgenic Mice: A Model for Immunotherapy Development

2013

An N-butyl-N-(4-hydroxybutyl)nitrosamine-induced bladder cancer model was developed in human mucin 1 (MUC1) transgenic mice for the purpose of testing MUC1-directed immunotherapy. After administering a MUC1-targeted peptide vaccine, a cytotoxic T lymphocyte response to MUC1 was confirmed by measuring serum cytokine levels and T-cell specific activity.

Here, we present two protocols for high-density micro-electrocorticography (µEcoG) recording in rats and mice, including surgical, implantation, and recording methods. µECoG recordings are performed in combination with either laminar polytrode recording in the rat auditory cortex or with optogenetic manipulation of neural activity in the mouse somatosensory cortex.

Investigating the Neural Mechanisms of Aware and Unaware Fear Memory with fMRI

A methodology to investigate the neural mechanisms that support aware and unaware memory processes during fear conditioning is described. This method monitors blood oxygen level dependent (BOLD) functional magnetic resonance imaging, skin conductance response, and unconditioned stimulus expectancy during Pavlovian fear conditioning to assess the neural correlates of distinct memory processes.

Acyl-PEGyl Exchange Gel Shift Assay for Quantitative Determination of Palmitoylation of Brain Membrane Proteins

Palmitoylation entails the incorporation of a 16-carbon palmitate moiety to cysteine residues of target proteins in a reversible manner. Here, we describe a biochemical approach, the acyl-PEGyl exchange gel shift (APEGS) assay, to investigate the palmitoylation state of any protein of interest in mouse brain lysates.
