Liver Proportion Analysis

Liver proportion analysis is the quantitative assessment of liver size relative to total body size or another anatomical reference, providing a standardized measure for comparing individuals, specimens, or experimental groups. It typically combines morphometric measurements, such as liver mass or volume, with normalization and statistical analysis to account for differences in body size and biological variation. In environmental research, this approach helps evaluate whether organisms show changes in liver development or relative organ size under different environmental conditions, supporting studies of growth, ecological health, and potential exposure-related effects. Consistent measurement also improves comparability across experiments and species.

Sample Proportion and Population Proportion

2023

Collecting samples or responses from an entire population takes significant time and effort, so a researcher collects responses from only a sample of that population. Suppose a study needs to collect information about a specific mobile application. After sample collection, the researcher analyzes the data and discovers that most individuals in the sample use that specific mobile application. The sample proportion measures the number of individuals in a sample who either use or don't use the...

Here we present a protocol describing oxygenated ex situ machine perfusion of donor liver grafts. This article contains a step by step protocol to procure and prepare the liver graft for machine perfusion, prepare the perfusion fluid, prime the perfusion machine and perform oxygenated normothermic machine perfusion of the liver graft.

A Standardized Method for the Analysis of Liver Sinusoidal Endothelial Cells and Their Fenestrations by Scanning Electron Microscopy

The fenestrated liver sinusoidal endothelial cell is a biologically important filter system that is highly influenced by various diseases, toxins, and physiological states. These changes significantly impact on liver function. We describe methods for the standardisation of the measurement of the size and number of fenestrations in these cells.
