Ibuprofen Effect

The ibuprofen effect refers to the drug’s ability to reduce pain, fever, and inflammation, making it important for studying how inflammatory responses influence health and infection. Ibuprofen inhibits cyclooxygenase enzymes, COX-1 and COX-2, which lowers prostaglandin production from arachidonic acid and consequently dampens inflammatory signaling, pain sensitivity, and temperature elevation. In immunology and infection research, this mechanism helps investigators examine the relationship between host inflammation and symptoms during infectious disease. Ibuprofen can relieve inflammation-related effects but does not directly eliminate infectious pathogens, so its use must be considered separately from antimicrobial treatment and the underlying immune response.

A protocol for small molecular drug screening based on in-situ synthesis of ultrasmall fluorescent gold nanoclusters (Au NCs) using drug-loaded protein as template is presented. This method is simple to determine the binding affinity of drugs to a target protein by a visible fluorescent signal emitted from the protein-templated Au NCs.

Intra-uterine Cancer Cell Injection: A Technique to Deliver Cancer Cells for Establishing Intra-peritoneal Ovarian Cancer Mouse Model
