Immune Marker Extraction

Immune marker extraction is the process of isolating or measuring molecular features that identify immune cells, activation states, or responses to infection. Depending on the sample and marker, the workflow may involve preparing blood or tissue, separating immune-cell populations, lysing cells to release target molecules, and using antibody-based binding, labeling, or analytical detection to distinguish specific proteins or other biomarkers. In immunology and infection research, these measurements help characterize host responses, compare disease states, assess immune activation, and evaluate treatment effects. Reliable marker extraction supports flow cytometry, immunoassays, molecular profiling, and the development of diagnostic or research biomarkers.

Techniques that are reliable and efficient for the isolation of kidney immune cells are needed for downstream applications. This requires surface antibody labeling of a small number of kidney immune cells. Herein, we describe a concise method for isolation of kidney immune cells that seemingly achieves this goal.

Tropomodulin 3 Overexpression as a Marker for Platinum Resistance and Immune Infiltration in Ovarian Cancer

Tropomodulin 3 (TMOD3) has been increasingly studied in tumors in recent years. This study is the first to report that TMOD3 is highly expressed in ovarian cancer and is closely associated with platinum resistance and immune infiltration. These results could help improve the therapeutic outcomes for ovarian cancer.

What is the Immune System?

2019

Overview The immune system comprises diverse biological structures and processes that protect the body from disease. These processes can be classified into innate and adaptive immunity. To work effectively, the immune system needs to detect pathogens by distinguishing the body’s own structures from foreign elements. If this determination fails, autoimmune diseases occur in which the immune system reacts against the body’s own tissue. The Innate Immune System Acts Fast and Non-specifically

Extraction Extraction is a common technique used in organic chemistry to isolate a target compound. In the extraction process, a solute is transferred from one phase to another to separate it from unreacted starting materials or impurities. Extraction is also used to facilitate the isolation of a solute from a reaction solvent that is difficult to remove by evaporation, such as a solvent with a high boiling point. Generally, there are three types of extractions. First, in solid-liquid...

Studying Organelle Dynamics in B Cells During Immune Synapse Formation

Herein we describe two approaches to characterize cell polarization events in B lymphocytes during the formation of an IS. The first, involves quantification of organelle recruitment and cytoskeleton rearrangements at the synaptic membrane. The second is a biochemical approach, to characterize changes in composition of the centrosome, which undergoes polarization to the immune synapse.
