Duplex Ultrasonography

Duplex ultrasonography is a noninvasive imaging technique that combines structural ultrasound imaging with blood-flow assessment, helping clinicians evaluate vessels and circulation in real time. B-mode ultrasound produces grayscale images from echoes reflected by tissues, while Doppler analysis measures frequency shifts caused by moving red blood cells to estimate flow direction and velocity. In medicine, this method helps detect arterial narrowing, venous thrombosis, aneurysms, and other vascular abnormalities without ionizing radiation or contrast agents. Its accessibility and repeatability support diagnosis, treatment planning, and monitoring of vascular disease.

Ultrasonography is an imaging technique that uses high-frequency sound waves to visualize the body's internal structures. It is a non-invasive and safe procedure that does not involve the use of ionizing radiation, making it widely used in various medical fields. Ultrasonography is used to study heart function, blood flow in the neck or extremities, certain conditions such as gallbladder disease, and fetal growth and development. During an ultrasonography procedure, a handheld device called a...

This video utilizes ultrasonography for diagnosis and follow-up tests to determine treatment efficacy of Progressive Resistance Exercise (PRE) in breast cancer-related lymphedema (BCRL). Ultrasonography can be applied effectively to ensure diagnosis and treatment of lymphedema.

Iterative Optimization of DNA Duplexes for Crystallization of SeqA-DNA Complexes

Crystal structure of protein–DNA complexes can provide insight into protein function, mechanism, as well as, the nature of the specific interaction. Here, we report how to optimize the length, sequence and ends of duplex DNA for co-crystallization with Escherichia coli SeqA, a negative regulator of replication initiation.

Helicase Activity Measurement of a Target Protein Using Biotin-Labeled RNA Duplexes

In this video, we demonstrate the procedure to determine the helicase activity of a target protein to unwind the biotin-labeled dsRNA substrate. The activity of the enzyme was identified by analyzing the electrophoretic mobility shift, followed by a chemiluminescence assay using chemiluminescent enzyme-conjugated streptavidin.
