Roi Analysis

ROI analysis, or return on investment analysis, is a method for comparing the resources committed to an activity with the financial or measurable value it produces. In medicine, it typically identifies costs such as equipment, staffing, treatment, or program delivery, then estimates benefits and expresses the relationship as a return, ratio, or net gain over a defined period. Healthcare organizations use ROI analysis to assess clinical programs, technologies, prevention initiatives, and service improvements alongside their resource requirements. When interpreted with clinical outcomes and patient needs, it supports evidence-informed decisions about funding, efficiency, implementation, and long-term healthcare value.

2025

Here we provide instructions on effectively utilizing SegElegans, a deep learning system we developed for the automated segmentation of individual worms in widefield microscopy images, for subsequent use in image analysis software such as ImageJ. We provide ways to use the system both online and offline.

Here a novel region of interest analysis protocol based on sorting best-fit ellipses assigned to regions of positive signal within two-dimensional time lapse image sequences is demonstrated. This algorithm may enable investigators to comprehensively analyze physiological Ca2+ signals with minimal user input and bias.
