Therapeutic Evaluation

Therapeutic evaluation is the systematic assessment of a treatment’s benefits, risks, and suitability for addressing a medical condition. It combines clinical evidence, patient characteristics, treatment goals, and monitoring of outcomes to determine whether an intervention is effective, safe, and appropriate. Evaluation may include measuring symptom changes, analyzing adverse effects, comparing treatments, and assessing adherence or quality of life over time. In medicine, this process supports evidence-based decisions, guides treatment adjustment, and helps researchers and clinicians determine how therapies perform across different patient populations.

The processes governing bladder cancer invasion represent opportunities for biomarker and therapeutic development. Here we present a bladder cancer invasion model which incorporates 3-D culture of tumor spheroids, time-lapse imaging and confocal microscopy. This technique is useful for defining the features of the invasive process and for screening therapeutic agents.
