Tourniquet Isolation

Tourniquet isolation is a medical technique that temporarily separates a limb’s circulation from the systemic bloodstream, creating a controlled field for treatment or surgery. A pneumatic cuff or other tourniquet is applied around the limb and inflated to restrict arterial inflow and venous outflow, often after the limb has been emptied of blood; this confines injected drugs or limits bleeding within the isolated region. In medicine, the technique supports procedures such as bloodless extremity surgery, regional intravenous anesthesia, and selected emergency hemorrhage-control applications. Careful control of pressure and inflation time is essential to balance procedural benefits with risks to nerves, muscles, and skin.

We describe the isolation of cardiac extracellular matrix from C57Bl/6J control mice, tight-skin mice, and tight-skin mice treated with the IRF5 inhibitory peptide. We also describe the vasodilation studies on the isolated vessels from C57Bl/6J, tight-skin mice and tight-skin mice treated with the IRF5 inhibitory peptide.

Development of a Novel Internal Fixation Model for Rat Radial Fractures: Fracture Healing Assessment and Dorsal Root Ganglion Isolation

2026

The study innovatively combines sutures and titanium needles for stable internal fixation in a rat radial fracture model. Fracture healing was assessed via micro-computed tomography (micro-CT), and primary dorsal root ganglion (DRG) neurons were isolated and cultured for further investigation.

Neutrophils are among the first cells to arrive on the site of inflammatory immune response, and their functions and mechanisms have been studied extensively in vitro. We demonstrate a standard density gradient separation method to isolate human neutrophils from whole blood using commercially available separation media.
