Brain Tumor Model

Brain tumor models are experimental systems that reproduce key features of tumors in the brain, enabling researchers to study disease biology under controlled conditions. They may use patient-derived cells, three-dimensional organoids, or animal models in which tumor cells grow within relevant neural and vascular environments, allowing analysis of genetic changes, cell invasion, signaling, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment. In neuroscience, these models help clarify how brain tumors develop and affect neural tissue, while supporting evaluation of drug responses, treatment resistance, and targeted therapies. Their predictive value depends on how closely each model reflects human tumor heterogeneity and the brain’s physiological barriers.
