Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is a structured behavioral program that trains people to attend to present-moment experiences with greater awareness and less judgment, making it an important model for studying stress and brain function. Typically delivered over eight weeks, MBSR combines mindfulness meditation, body scanning, mindful movement, and daily practice to strengthen attentional control and alter habitual responses to thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations. In neuroscience, researchers use MBSR to investigate how attention and emotion regulation influence stress reactivity and well-being. The approach is also applied in research and clinical settings to support coping with chronic stress, pain, and other health-related challenges.

Oxidation-Reduction Reactions

Oxidation–Reduction Reactions Earth’s atmosphere contains about 20% molecular oxygen, O2, a chemically reactive gas that plays an essential role in the metabolism of aerobic organisms and in many environmental processes that shape the world. The term oxidation was originally used to describe chemical reactions involving O2, but its meaning has evolved to refer to a broad and important reaction class known as oxidation–reduction (redox) reactions. Some redox reactions involve the transfer of...
