Aneurysm Size Measurement

Aneurysm size measurement is the quantitative assessment of an aneurysm’s dimensions, especially its maximum diameter, to characterize cerebrovascular lesions and support clinical decisions. In neuroscience, clinicians use imaging modalities such as computed tomography angiography, magnetic resonance angiography, or digital subtraction angiography, applying calibrated measurements across multiplanar views to account for aneurysm shape and orientation. Accurate assessment can help estimate rupture risk, distinguish growth from measurement variability, guide treatment planning, and establish a baseline for follow-up imaging. Consistent measurement also improves communication among researchers and clinicians studying intracranial aneurysm development, progression, and outcomes.

Histological and biochemical modifications after aneurysm endograft exclusion are still unclear. We describe a new model of endograft implantation on a murine aneurysm. Through thrombus analysis with and without persistant circulating blood stream interface, and new endovascular biomaterials evaluation, this model will help to better understand endovascular aneurysm exclusion pathobiology.
